Moxy London Excel

Had a nice stay here, room was lovely, clean and warm, staff were really friendly, the only problem was the noise from the room above so much banging all night, however that was not a staff/hotel issue, some guest just have no thought for anyone else. We would definitely stay here again as only a short train ride into the centre of London and good value for money.

It reminds me a bit of those old Soviet aircraft that copied most of the Boeing design but missed a couple of key things like stabilisers. The Moxy copies most of Citizen M but misses the rain showers and usable desk in the room. The people are friendly and helpful. The rooms are quiet and comfortable. The doors have dampening mechanisms, so they don't bang. The prices are reasonable. It's very close to City Airport - a 15 minute walk. The breakfast was good value , although the hot options were stodgy and unhealthy The socket next to my bed (the only one) didn't work (nor did the USB sockets). The window didn't close properly - an issue when you're next to an airport. In fairness, I didn't mention this until checkout and the lovely person there was very apologetic. Overall, a good choice.

For a hotel so close to London ExCeL, this Moxy was a pleasantly surprising stay. While clearly designed with budget-conscious corporate travellers in mind, the overall quality was higher than expected. The property was clean throughout, the rooms were reasonably sized, and the bathrooms—while not luxurious—were noticeably more spacious than those in many comparable budget hotels. They felt like proper bathrooms rather than the cramped, fibreglass “yacht-style” setups you often encounter elsewhere. The staff were welcoming and professional, the breakfast was adequate if a little uninspiring, and the general atmosphere struck a good balance between friendly and efficient. A solid, dependable option for the area. There is no gym, but if you like a run there is a spectacular route alongside the runway of London City Airport which is just across the water.

Very fine budget hotel. Modern, quiet, clean, spacious rooms, and super relaxed, friendly stuff. And they give you a welcome drink! For a short stay and on this budget, I could not ask for more!

Best place in London to stay... you're 35 minutes into the Center of London its around £3.60 The rooms are modern and clean Only bad thing is the sink STINKS of egg, like make you gag smell of eggs. I've stayed in 12 rooms and they all have this plumbing issue

Great spot for a relaxed stay! The hotel has a really chill vibe, super clean rooms, and it’s just a short walk from the train station, which makes it really convenient. Staff were friendly and the overall atmosphere felt welcoming. The only downside is that the hotel doesn’t have its own gym. However, there’s a full fitness center right across the street if you need a workout, although quite on the expensive side for an American.

Staying in the hotel for an event in the London Excel. Excellent location that is within walking distance of London City Airport aswell as the Excel itself. We were checked in by Andrea and Mihaela who were very accomodating when we had issues with the booking from booking.com. very friendly staff who go above and beyond to help their customers.

Easy checkin, comfortable and clean room and decent bathroom. Enjoyed the open sitting and lounging areas for the breakfast and dining areas. Has a bar with drinks and snacks Great breakfast included in our rate Helpful and friendly reception Easy walk to both the DLR and Elizabeth lines and even the Royal Wharf for the Uber boat into the city. Will definitely stay here again and can recommend for any London visit.
